Di bawah naungan Asosiasi Perguruan Tinggi Informatika dan Ilmu Komputer (Aptikom), saya bisa bertandang ke Korea Selatan, 17-21 September silam.
Berbagai perguruan tinggi menjadi sasaran kunjungan Aptikom, diantaranya Kumoh National Institute of Technology, Ajou University, Seoul National University (SNU), Ewha Women University dan Sungkyukwan University.
Kedatangan yang dipimpin oleh Ketua Umum Aptikom Prof. R. Eko Indrajit bersama 37 peserta dari 30 perguruan tinggi lainnya.
Kedatangan rombongan Aptikom ke Negeri Gingseng ini merupakan salah satu cara perguruan tinggi ilmu komputer dan informatika di Indonesia mengembangkan pengetahuan dibidang teknologi informasi. Dalam kunjungan yang dikemas dalam tajuk "Aptikom Global Exposure", rombongan mengikuti seminar internasional "International Conference on ICT Industry and Education" yang digelar di Kumoh National Institute of Technology (KIT), Gumi, Jumat (19/9).
Kunjungan mereka juga sekaligus membuka kemungkinan penjajakan kerja sama dengan berbagai universitas tersebut. Dengan harapan kerja sama bisa terjalin dengan baik di masa mendatang.
The proposed days of visit cover 5-day and 3-night trip. The trip starts Wednesday meeting point at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport at 22.00 to prepare boarding at 23.50. However, participants from Sumatra, Kalimantan, Sulawesi, and Papua, may require two days off from work, i.e. Wednesday 17th September and Friday 19 September 2014 for more convenient pre-departure. The cool temperature in Korea around September between 16° – 25° C will normally allow participants to join the trip without provision of special clothing.

DAY 1 – SOEKARNO HATTA AIRPORT, ASIANA AIRLINES, INCHEON
Asiana Airlines (formerly Seoul Airlines) is one of South Korea’s two major airlines, along with Korean Air. Asiana has its headquarters in Asiana Town building in Seoul. As a member of Star Alliance, it operates 14 domestic and 90 international passenger routes, and 27 cargo routes throughout Asia, Europe, North America, and Oceania. Asiana is also currently an official sponsor of the South Korea national football team.
DAY 2 – GYONG-BOK PALACE, FOLK MUSEUM, AMETHYST SHOWCASE, HANOK VILLAGE, GINSENG OUTLET, ACCOMMODATION, DONG-DAEMUN MARKET, SEOUL N TOWER
Gyeong-bok Palace is Seoul’s grandest Joseon Dynasty-era palace and the seat of power for centuries before it was razed in 1592 by a Japanese invasion (and again by the Japanese in 1910). This was the first palace used by the Joseon Dynasty.
National Folk Museum has three main exhibition halls, with over 98,000 artifact, featuring materials of everyday life in Korea from prehistoric times to the end of the Joseon Dynasty in 1910.
Amethyst Showcase presents various Korean renowned jewelry products from amethyst stone. Buk-Chon Hanok Village is a Korean traditional village with a long history, composed of lots of alleys, hanok, and is preserved to show a 600-year-old urban environment.
Ginseng outlet offers renowned Korean ginseng and its various products. Accommodations are provided for delight package at Haedamchae Hotel, and premium package at Lotte Downtown Seoul Hotel.
The evening tour around Seoul covers Dongdaemun Market and Seoul N Tower. Dongdaemun Market includes upmarket shopping districts as well as several underground shops, stalls and markets that are open for much of the day and night.
Seoul N Tower stands at the Namsan hill. There are four observation decks (the 4th observation deck, which is the revolving restaurant, rotates at a rate of one revolution every 48 minutes).
DAY 3 – KTX EXPERIENCE TO GIMCHEON-GUMI, JOINT-CONFERENCE AT KUMOH NATIONAL INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY AT GUMI CITY, GUMI INDUSTRIAL TOUR (THE SILICON VALLEY OF KOREA) , SAMSUNG SMART GALLERY, DONGHWA DFS, MYEONGDONG STREET
Korea Train Express (KTX) is South Koreas high-speed rail system, with top speed for trains in regular service is currently 305 km/h (190 mph), though the infrastructure is designed for 350 km/h (217 mph). (Stops at Gimcheon-Gumi station and transfer by bus to Kumoh National Institute of Technology and the nearby industrial center of Gumi).
Kumoh National Institute of Technology is the co-host of APTIKOM Global Joint-Conference on the Future of IT Industry and Education, in which the participants will be awarded an official certificate.
Gumi Industrial Area is the silicon valley of Korea where 90% of IT products particularly related to mobile phone are produced in Gumi.
Samsung Smart Gallery exposes the line of process and products of Samsung smartphones. (Returns to Seoul by bus, evening tour in Seoul visits to Donghwa DFS and Myengdong Street).
Donghwa DFS or Dongwha Duty Free Shop has its own purchasing team which selects only the best brands from around the world for the latest perfumes, cosmetics, accessories, leather goods, and famous designer brands all in one place.
DAY 4 – SEOUL NATIONAL UNIVERSITY (SNU), EWHA WOMEN UNIVERSITY, AND SUNKYUKWAN UNIVERSITY (SKKU), SUWON INDUSTRIAL PARK, HWASEONG FORTRESS, HANBOK TRADITIONAL COSTUMES, AND CHEONGGYECHEON STREAM
Seoul National University (SNU) is one of the biggest university in South Korea, comprises sixteen colleges and six professional schools, and a student body of about 28,000.
Ewha Women University, is a private women’s university in central Seoul, currently the world’s second-largest female educational institute. is a private research university.
The college of engineering at Ewha Womans University was established in 1996 as the world’s first women’s college of engineering.
Sunkyukwan University (SKKU) is the one of oldest educational institutions founded by the Joseon Dynasty in the area of Suwon, where some of ancient buildings of the dynasty become a life part of the campus. Suwon Digital City includes Samsung Electro-mechanics headquarters.
Hwaseong Fortress is a stunning fortress in Suwon constructed between 1794 to 1796 and a UNESCO World Heritage Site; visitors can try out archery at Hwaseong fortress.
Hanbok Traditional Dress Studio offers visitors to take pictures in Korean Traditional garments.
The Cheonggyecheon Stream is walk-by-the river experience, on a clean and beautiful riverside bustling with people all year round especially during summer nights.
DAY 5 – CHUNGHA GROCERY SOUVENIR SHOP, INCHEON, JAKARTA
Chungha Duty Free Grocery offers souvenirs and traditional snacks of Korea.
